From an outdated single-site firewall to a managed Sophos solution
A mid-sized company with around 40 workstations and two home-office locations was using an outdated firewall without central management and without documented rules. After analyzing the existing infrastructure, we cleaned up the rules, set up a Sophos XGS firewall with Xstream Protection, and configured secure VPN access for all home-office workstations.
Since then, Gabler has continuously monitored the firewall, applied updates, and is immediately reachable in the event of security-relevant incidents.
Firewall isolation prevents uncontrolled AI data leakage
A customer in the social sector wanted to integrate an external AI solution where data leakage to third countries could not be reliably ruled out—far too great a risk given the customer’s highly sensitive data. Instead, we strictly segmented the AI application behind the firewall and replaced it with a locally operated model on dedicated hardware: no uncontrolled external access, full control over data flow.

Wir richten dies über Sophos Connect oder OPNsense mit IPsec ein – mit Geräteprofilen und feingranularen Rechten statt pauschalem Netzwerkzugriff, konsequent nach Zero-Trust-Prinzipien.
