From an expensive licensed firewall to OPNsense with Zenarmor and WAF
A customer with multiple locations was facing renewal of expensive subscription licenses for their existing firewall hardware. After analyzing actual needs, we deployed an OPNsense firewall with Zenarmor for application control and additionally protected the internally hosted web applications with ModSecurity & OWASP CRS as a web application firewall.
The result: comparable transparency and control to the previous commercial solution, continuously managed by us, without recurring vendor licenses for the base firewall.
